| Grizz had been assigned to looking around the South Rukongai for the next few hours. He was doing patrols; just minor scouting/patrolling to get him ready for his later missions. This mission was easy and simple: just look around, check in on people, and make sure that there isn't any major disturbances going on in the area. Grizz, not really minding the easy task, had been walking in circles it seemed. To him, it felt like he was just walking the same street after each turn. A left, another left, a right, straight for a few blocks, a right, a left... The turns would bring him to the end of this district, so he would turn around, and take another route back to the beginning to recheck this district one more time before moving on to the next. He was in district twenty-three at the moment, and would leave to district twenty-four within the hour.
"Tch," he scoffed. "Bruh, this district goes on forever with these turns. I mean dang yo, can't just walk around without havin' to be in a dang maze bro.." He was tired of all of the turns in this district. He didn't see why it was built this way, but then again, not his business. Making his last check of this district, he moved on to the next. The walk to the next district would take him two hours. Upon arrival, Grizz noticed that he had grown up near this specific district. He smiled, remembering his old friends and their families. Spotting an elderly man he once knew as Tomo, Grizz walked over to him and kneel'd down beside him.
"Ay pops, what's up fam? How ya holdin' up?" He reached into the folds of his black robes, and pulled out some money. He had little over two-hundred bucks, but he didn't count it. He just grabbed the older mans hand and placed it in his hand and closed his hand. As the man replied, "Oh!! Grizz! It's been so long! How have you been? It's been a lot quieter since you left, little buddy.. Not many of us are left around, now that you've up and left us. Ohh, what's this? Money? ....Thank you, Grizz... Thank you a lot. This is more than enough to last me for months. You're a blessing to this district, young man..."
Grizz chuckled, and hugged Tomo. "Aye, no problem gramps. Anything to help out my fam. I gotta go for now, pops, but i'll drop back by before i leave. Peace, yo-." Grizz waved, and started walking, checking in on the others he knew, and ones that he hadn't seen in a while - regardless of their past relationships.

| As he walked a little further on, Grizz came to a group of young kids; seemingly looking to be around the age of ~9-10 years of age. Even though they looked young, they were really a lot older. Strange how the ages worked in this world. Grizz slowed his walk, and watched the group as they were huddled together, obviously making some plan to be mischievous. As the children all cheered and ran off in their own different directions, he simply shrugged and went about his business. He knew he'd run into them sometime. But for now, not his problem. Tired of the streets, and the street view of things, he climbed the side of a small home with a leap. Now he could view the streets, and multiple streets over. He placed his hands behind his head, yawning. A boring day, with no excitement it seemed. Hopefully something would happen today, that would make his day?
Out the corner of his eye, he noticed in the far distance a hole opening in the sky. Raising an eyebrow, he wondered what the hell that was. The hole expanded, and out came a few Hollows. Squinting his brows, he turned to face the general direction the hole and the hollows were in - North. Grizz dashed north, making his way to the threat making itself into his world. Small or big, the threat was the same. And it was his duty to guard and protect the people of these districts. He quickly reached his destination within a few minutes. It was crucial to be fast and to deal with the appearance of these Hollows. As he arrived, he noticed there were at least a dozen. All small fry. No biggie then, he thought.
Boy was he wrong. At his level, each one was difficult to deal with. After all, he was a new Shinigami. He barely had any experience killing Hollows. "Bakudo#2! Sai!" He'd aim for each one to draw their attention in, and bind their arms behind them. Successful in binding all but one, Grizz quickly drew his Zanpakutō, sending strong slashes at the Hollows that were bound. He'd hit their masks, cutting right through their mask, cracking it, the Hollow dying almost instantly. Each one that was bound, crumbling away back to their realm, or wherever they went - dead. All that was left was the one he was unable to have bound. Taking up an offensive stance, he'd lunge at the Hollow, from above. He had jumped up above, hoping to make the fight over quick. But, the Hollow was not as easy a target as the others had been. This one was stronger; possibly the one who had brought the others here.
"Bruh, i'm tired as shit, I wanna get this over with so I can go back to the barracks and relax mang.."
"Then I will consume you, and you can rest inside me, Shinigami." The Hollow laughed, sending its fist down, smacking Grizz down to the dirt. Getting up, gripping his Zanpakutō tightly in his right hand, Grizz frowned, pushed his glasses up with his left hand, and dashed back to the Hollow.
"Nah, not about that life." His sword sliced through the air, catching the defending Hollow's arm, right at it's mid-forearm. His sword sank right through the Hollow's limb like a hot knife through butter. Continuing his attack, he curved his arch, the sword coming right back up into the armpit of the Hollow, cutting into the shoulder region, then back across into the head and mask.
"I ain't bein' eaten for a damn thang bruh!" And with that, the sword cut through the mask, out of the other side of the Hollow's masked face, and was sheathed, a "zzzng" as he scraped the sword up and into the scabbard. What a day.. Looking at the sun, he guessed it was almost time for his shift to end. Double checking, he looked around, to make sure all was well in the districts he was in and had been visiting. Nothing appearing, nothing looked suspicious... All was well to him. If anything happened now, it was the next shift's decision and jurisdiction. Heading back to the barracks, a few hours walk/run, Grizz finished his duty. A little combat, a little patrolling... A normal day, but a quiet and quite boring day at that. Reaching the barracks of his squad, he turned in his report for the day and gave his small speech.
"Nothing to report other than a small group of Hollows that made their way in today. Dealt with and eliminated."
